PURPOSE:To check a channel transfer system, by providing a means which enables the transfer of data only between a channel and a main storage device into the channel with no use of an I/O when the initial diagnosis is given to the channel. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 reads out successively plural units of the 1st test data sources 3 provided previously within a main storage MSU onto a bus (b) led to a channel device CHU4 and in the form of test data. At the same time, the CHU4 writes successively the 1st test data on the bus (b) into a data buffer register DBR5 and then reads them out to feed them to the input of one side of a comparing part 7. The 2nd test data source 6 supplies the corresponding expected value data to the other input of the part 7 from the source 6 itself and synchronously with the source 3 which is read out to the part 7 from the DBR5. The part 7 collates the test data with the expected value data and then turns on an error display latch 8 if no coincidence is obtained from the comparison. The CPU1 checks the ON state of the latch 8 to perform a diagnosis when the data output is transferred. |
