摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To form easily a both-sided electrode plate with excellent liquid crystal orientation performance by supporting the electrode plate only at the circumferential part of its reverse surface, and orienting the top surface side while holding a noncontacting part on the reverse surface with the gaseous pressure. CONSTITUTION:A stage 40 which has a recessed part 41 provided with air blowoff holes 42 and rack parts 43 provided gas suction holes 44 is used. Namely, the both-sided electrode plate 22 is supported at its circumferential part by the rack parts 43 of the stage 40 and sucked through the suction holes 44 to fix the both-sided electrode plate 22 (while the reverse surface of the electrode plate 22 is not in contact except at the circumferential part). Then, clean gas is blown into the gap formed between the bottom surface of the stage 40 and the electrode plate 22 and while the electrode plate 22 is held in a flat surface shape against pressure during a rubbing treatment, the top surface of the electrode plate 22 is oriented with a rubbing roller 21. Then, the electrode plate 22 is turned over and the other side is oriented similarly.</p>
