PURPOSE:To enable the mass production of a polygonal mirror having high accuracy at a low cost by forming a spacing between glass members and a core member, forming the surface of the core members into a rugged or zigzag shape, injecting an adhesive agent into the space and allowing the adhesive agent to cure and to shrink. CONSTITUTION:A hexagonal core member 4 and glass members 8a-8f for forming reflection surfaces of a mirror are manufactured separately and are assembled in a metallic mold 12. A cylindrical hole 6 is provided at the center of the member 4, and the six glass members 8a-8f and the outside circumferential surface each other part from a spacing 10. A rugged part 14 is formed on the side surface of the core member 4 in the spacing 10 and ah adhesive agent 16 such as an epoxy resin or the like is injected therein. The part 14 may be formed as a zigzag surface. The envelope plane of the peaks in the projecting part of the ruggedness 14 and the planes of the members 8a-8f adhere tightly to each other after curing of the adhesive agent; therefore, the reflection surfaces having high plane accuracy are obtained with less face inclination. The inclination of the glass members that may arise by the shrinkage effect during the curing of the adhesive agent is prevented by butting of the core member. |
