PURPOSE:To perform soft mooring by a method that the bottom of a mooring post is connected through a universal joint to the foundation set up in the sea bottom; the top of the post is connected to a yoke through a turntable and universal joint; and a mooring cable is connected to the top of the post. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of a mooring post 1 having buoyant force below the surface of the water is connected through a universal joint 6 to the foundation 4 in the sea bottom, and the top of the post 1 is also connected to the front end of a yoke 10 through a turntable 8 and universal joint 7. Also, the footing of the yoke 10 is firmly fitted to the ship 9 through a yoke hinge 13 on the hull 9. A wire rope 11 is fitted to the center of the yoke 10, and is wound by a winch 15 via the top of a tower crane 12. The top of the post 1 is coupled to an anchor 16 in the sea bottom by a mooring cable 2.
