In an electrical safety device for a stacker vehicle which can be moved guided by drawbar and has a drive motor and a travel switch, with which said stacker vehicle can be controlled to move forwards or backwards, the function of the emergency switch is disabled when the stacker vehicle is stationary. The function of the emergency switch is to be enabled when the stacker vehicle moves backwards. In order to achieve this, on a part of the stacker vehicle which is involved in rotation during the travel movement of the stacker vehicle a sensing device is arranged which detects the rotational movement of the part which is involved in rotation and outputs a corresponding electrical signal to an evaluation circuit. A blocking circuit which disables the emergency switch when the part involved in rotation is stationary and enables the emergency switch when the part involved in rotation experiences a rotational movement is controlled by the evaluation circuit.
