An additional propulsion charge, which supplements the propulsion charge and burns in a delayed manner in the barrel with respect to the propulsion charge, is arranged on a projectile. In order to fit such a propulsion charge to sub-calibre projectiles in a simple manner, a control assembly 2 of the sub-calibre projectile body 1 is covered all round with a propulsion charge powder body 5 which forms the additional propulsion charge. <IMAGE>
