A hand-held impact tool operated by a pressure medium includes a work cylinder, a piston movable in the work cylinder by the pressure medium, and an impact member. A pressure medium container, preferably a CO2-cartridge, is immediately attached to the housing of the tool so that no pressure medium conduit system or electric cable system are required. The force of the spring for driving the impact member is adjustable. The tool is provided with a displaceable hand grip and a releasing handle for releasing the impact member.
