Two conveyor belts (11, 24) are provided which adjoin one another and enclose an angle between them. The end of one conveyor belt (11) overlaps the start of the other conveyor belt (24). To simplify the drive of the flat structure to be conveyed, specifically in the overlapping region of the two conveyor belts, first means (39) are provided in the overlapping region for bringing the flat structure into a forwardly descending inclined position, seen in the conveying direction (25) of the other conveyor belt (24), and second means (22) are provided for subjecting the underside of the flat structure to a pulsed compressed air jet ascending in an inclined manner in the conveying direction (25) of the other conveyor belt (24). <IMAGE>
