The invention relates to a method for the production of workpieces (1) with cavities of small cross-section formed in the bottom part, in particular microcontactor housings, by plastic deformation. The essence of the method consists in simultaneously exerting on the workpiece a compressive force (6) on one side of the ring (2) bringing about the cold flow and a tensile force (7) on the other side of the said ring. <IMAGE>
