The safety system of a high-pressure reactor for the manufacture of aggressive media, for example acetic acid, consists of a pressure-bearing shell (1) with a welded-on, pressure-bearing end piece (2) and of a pressure-bearing cover (3) bolted to the shell, each being lined on the reactor inside with a corrosion-resistant material, and the shell, end piece and cover being each provided with safety bores (11) - likewise lined with a corrosion-resistant material - the corrosion-resistant material consisting of two layers of hastelloy C4 (5) and titanium (6), titanium being on the reactor inside, and one or more strips (2), distributed over the circumference and inclined towards the titanium, of hastelloy C4 being inserted into the material hastelloy C4 over the entire length of the shell, which strips are provided at predetermined spacings with bores (10) and, on the sides facing away from the titanium, over the entire length with a plurality of grooves (9). <IMAGE>
