PURPOSE:To obtain an oral cavity composition which is very effective for prevention of tooth decay and periodontoses with synergetically enhanced microbicidal effect and inhibition of bacterial plaque formation, by using a chlorhexidine and a quaternary ammonium salt. CONSTITUTION:The subject composition is obtained by using a chlorhexidine such as chlorhexidine gluconate and a quaternary ammonium salt such as cetylpyridinium chloride, when needed, an abrasive, a humectant, a thickener, a surfactant, a sweetener, flavors and other additives to form a preparation in a usual manner. The amount of the chlorhexidine is 0.000001 to 5wt.%, while the quaternary ammonium salt, 0.000001-5wt.% based on the total composition. The composition is used in the form of dental paste, powder, wet powder, oral pasta, mouth wash and gargle. |
