PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate distortion caused at a finishing edge of a mark and to reduce jitters in the edge recording by providing a pulse for projecting power smaller than erasing power after the last pulse of a recording pulse train and specifying this pulse width. SOLUTION: After projecting recording power by recording pulses of the pulse train constituting recording marks, the pulse having power smaller than the erasing power is once projected, and afterward, this power is returned to the erasing power. By using this method, jitters at the finishing edges of the recording marks are reduced. In other words, by providing the pulse for projecting the power smaller than the erasing power, a cooling rate of the finishing edge of the recording mark, where temp. is raised as compared with the beginning edge at the recording time can be gathered. Therefore, the cooling rate is made fast and constant in the case of overwrite. Consequently, the finishing edge can accurately be recorded without developing coarse crystal grains very much at the recording time. |
