PURPOSE:To simplify the transfer of a file containing a record address table RAT by converting a logical record into a fixed length record and vice versa without using a forwardly compiled file. CONSTITUTION:A transmission computer 10 is provided with a transmission means 13 and a 1st conversion means 12 including a logical record buffer 12a which produces the fixed length record to be read by the means 13. A reception computer 20 is provided with a reception means 23 and a 2nd conversion means 22 including a logical record buffer 22a which writes the received fixed length record into a file 21a. Then the means 12 converts immediately the logical record read out of a file of the computer 10 via a record input/output means into the fixed length record and outputs it to the means 13. The means 22 converts immediately the received fixed length code into a logical record and writes it into a file of the computer 20 via the record input/output means. Thus the transfer of a file provided with a table RAT can be simplified.
