PURPOSE:To extract thousands of handwritten KANJIs (Chinese character) by coupling >=3 planes of a two-dimensional cell space circuit together and providing an arithmetic circuit to one of them. CONSTITUTION:The cell feature extracting cell space circuit part 2 of a feature extraction part consists of cell planes 21, 22, and 23 of planes (t), t-1, and t-2, and the arithmetic circuit 25 is provided to only the internal cell 21A of the plane (t). The arithmetic circuit 25 has a connection line 26a from the plane t-1, a connection 26b from the plane t-2, and a connection line 26c from a control parameter storage part and an edge feature storage part, and a value S to be updated is fixed on the basis of values from them and stored in an element 24. All internal cell values S in the surface (t) once obtained are sent to the plane t-1 through a delay element 27, and values S of the plane t-1 are sent to the plane t-2 through the delay element 27. |
