Impact locator for golf ball on green - generates visual or audible indication of arrival of driven ball within electrically sensitive area around hole

The lay-out of a tutorial or practice golf course includes an area of green (2) surrounding the hole (5) where a wire mesh mat (6) is laid in the grass and wired to a signal amplifier (7) driving a display board (8). The ball (4) driven from a tee (1) generates a signal on impact with the mat (6). An inductive loop, capacitive wire grid, or optical barrier may be used instead of a mat. ADVANTAGE - Learner or inexperienced player can ascertain immediately whether ball has been driven onto green, even over longest fairways.
