An albumin or globulin (having special characteristics), or its mixt. with sugar alcohols, monomeric polymeric sugars, gelatine or other known stabilisers, is used for long-term stabilisation of an interleukin-2 (IL-2) prepn., which may be a natural product (from lymphocytes or cell lines) or a recombinant material. Albumin is used at up to 20 wt.% based on solns. of IL-2 activity 1-100 million units/ml.
