PURPOSE:To provide a dust-free fastening mechanism which enables fastening with no dust generating and which is usable for devices and equipments required to be kept highly clean, in particular. CONSTITUTION:A shape memory alloy made pin 1 stores its shape of which a tip end portion is opened, and a plate A2 and a plate B3 are fastened together by the shape recovery force thereof. The heat treatment conditions and components for this shape memory alloy made pin 1 are determined so that the alloy pin 1 may be recovered into a shape of which a tip end portion is opened under a use temperature, and this opened shape is stored in the alloy pin. Then, the pin 1 is applied with a pressure under a temperature lower than a shape recovery temperature, and the tip end portion thereof is closed and thus is made straight. In this condition, the pin 1 is inserted into holes of the plate A2 and the plate B3. By raising up to a use temperature, thereafter, the pin 1 shape is recovered to fasten both the plates A2 and B2 to each other. Since the shape recovery force is used for fastening, neither friction nor impact occurs, so that no dust generation occurs. |
