PURPOSE: To obtain a stable small particle liposome preparation comprising stable vesicles having small particle sizes and a vesicle membranes comprising a mixture of a specific amount of a collagen hydrolyzate esterified with a fatty acid, and lecithins, and useful for a cosmetic, a drug for skin, etc., suitable for topical application. CONSTITUTION: The objective liposome preparation comprising vesicles having stable small particle sizes and vesicle membranes comprising a mixture of 16-90 wt.% collagen hydrolyzate esterified with a fatty acid, and one or more lecithins is obtained by mixing the lecithin (e.g. soy bean lecithin), a therapeutic agent (e.g.α-tocopherol nicotinate), phenoxyethanol and ethanol, heating the mixture to 50 deg.C while stirring to form a clear homogeneous liquid, adding butylhydroxytoluene, the collagen hydrolyzate esterified with the fatty acid and a hypotonic buffer (pH 6.5) to the obtained clear homogeneous liquid to provide a lipid dispersion, treating the obtained lipid dispersion by a high pressure homogenizer, filtering the homogenized dispersion with a membrane, and mixing the filtered dispersion with a gelling agent (e.g. polyacrylic acid). |
