<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a catalyst converter by improving a metal carrier of the catalyst converter whose shell having a core therein is of double-wall structure comprising an inner and outer cylinders to reduce stresses due to the differences in thermal expansion between the inner and outer cylinders. SOLUTION: In a metal carrier of a catalyst converter in which a shell 21 including a core 19 formed from a corrugated metal plate and flat metal plate is of double-wall structure comprising an inner cylinder 23 and outer cylinder 25, made of a metal, opposite ends thereof being joined together, the inner cylinder 23 is formed from ferritic stainless steel and the outer cylinder 25 is formed from austenitic stainless steel.</p> |
