PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the portable telephone set to place the user's hope on return of the lost portable telephone set by registering possessor information and a password to the telephone set, inhibiting a speech coperation when a speech integration time set optionally is exceeded so as to display the possessor informa tion thereby providing an effective unauthorized use preventing function to the telephone set on the occurrence of missing of the telephone set. SOLUTION: The possessor uses a key entry device 4 to register possessor information including its own name and a contact destination telephone number, a password and an optional integration time till a speech is inhibited to a memory 2. A microcomputer 1 integrates a speech time for each speech, reads a name and a contact destination having been registered in advance automatically from the memroy 2 and displays them and inhibits the speech operation by key entry or the like when the integrated speech time exceeds the setting time. The possessor recognizes it that speeches are made for a setting time or over and enters again the password. Even when the portable telephone set is missing, illegal use of the telephone set by a malicious third party is prevented. Moreover, since the information specifying the possessor is displayed automatically the notice by a third party of good will is expected.
