<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enjoy multimedia line service while utilizing a personal computer popular in general home without applying any remarkable specification change. SOLUTION: Multimedia data are received and supplied to a board 2 as a bit stream. On the board 2, image and audio data and other general data are separated from the bit stream based on an ID for each packet. The image and audio data are recorded in a storage B composed of an attachable and detachable large capacity recording medium as a stream B together with the recording position information of data. Information corresponding to the recording position in the stream B is contained in the general data, defined as a stream A and recorded in a storage A composed of an HDD. A user performs the retrieval of data to the storage A and performs the actual reproduction of image and audio data from the storage B. Since the large capacitance data and interactive data are separately recorded, the multimedia service can be enjoyed while utilizing the existing personal computer.</p> |
