A method for growing a plant comprising the steps of placing a soil-stick plant grown by soil culture above the surface of water, growing the plant while supplying water thereto, and allowing newly grown roots to extend toward and reach the water surface to thereby shift the soil culture stage to a water culture stage; and a device suitable for the above method.
