A texture additive comprising a xanthan gum and a galactomannan, wherein said galactomannan, which has a mannose/galactose ratio no higher than 10/3, has a molecular weight selected so that its intrinsic viscosity [ eta ] ([eta]) is of at least around 1 m<3>/kg, is disclosed. Said additive may be used in cosmetics, dyes and foods, in the oil industry and in detergents.
