PURPOSE: An automatic combustion control method is provided to realize optimal combustion without replacement of a nozzle despite changing of a kind of a gas by opening and shutting off a gas valve depending on detection of a kind of a gas. CONSTITUTION: Combustion control is operated by the following steps of: igniting after determining an output level of a gas appliance; calculating a calorific value by using voltage generated from a thermocouple and time elapse after ignition; deciding a kink of a gas used presently depending on present open degree of a valve and the calorific value; and controlling open degree of the valve depending on the kink of the gas. Therefore, the gas is burned in an optimal state.
