PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing the degradation in treatment efficiency when toxic substances inflow. SOLUTION: The activity of nitrification bacteria within an aerobic vessel is enhanced and the degradation in the treatment efficiency is prevented by carrying out any of (a) temperature control of the aerobic vessel (around 35 deg.C), (2) pH control of the aerobic vessel (pH 8.5 to 8.6), (3) dissolved oxygen concn. control of the aerobic vessel (2 mg/L) and (4) the control combined with >=2 among the three methods described above when toxic substances inflow.
