SOLUTION: The navigation device is provided with a road traffic information acquiring means 101 for acquiring road traffic information, an own vehicle position detection means 102 for detecting the current position of a vehicle, a road traffic information display configuration modification means 103 and a map information display modification and configuration modification means 105 for modifying the road traffic information and the display configuration of map information remote from the own vehicle, a map information storage means 104 for storing the map information, and a display means 106 for displaying and simplifying the display configuration of the road traffic information and the display configuration of the map information remote from an own vehicle position in a prescribed distance or more.
