PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery aimed at improved safety and with an excellent balance between energy density and battery characteristics. SOLUTION: With the nonaqueous electrolyte battery provided with a cathode 5 containing a cathode active material which can absorb and discharge lithium, an anode 6 containing an anode active material which can absorb and discharge lithium, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, the nonaqueous electrolyte characteristically contains a polymer electrolyte made by hardening a mixture having an acryloil group as expressed in: CH2 =CR-COO- [provided, R=H or an alkyl group] and with nonaqueous electrolyte solution, and a radical polymerization initiator which can dehydrogenate the above acryloil group when the cathode potential reaches or surpasses 4.4 V. |
