PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having proper input/output characteristics in a short time, even in a low-temperature environment. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery comprises a positive electrode formed of a positive electrode mix containing a positive electrode active material, a conductive material and a binder, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving a lithium salt in an organic solvent. The battery is composed so that the positive electrode mix further contains activated carbon, and electric double-layer capacity by an alternating current impedance method is set to 3F/Ah or larger per battery discharge capacity. By increasing the electric double layer capacity, the time constant of the battery is increased, a time delay is generated in voltage variation attributable to reaction resistance of the battery, and as a result, the variation of the battery voltage in a short time from the start of charge and discharge is reduced, so that the input/output characteristics in a short time are improved. |
