PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectrum diffusion communication device performing the setting of diffusion code length, diffusion code rate and data rate. SOLUTION: The receiving part of a spectrum diffusion communication device has a reverse diffusion circuit 206, provided with a fast-speed correlator 205, which performs a comparison between the diffusion pattern of received spectrum diffusion signals and the reference pattern possessed by the receiving part. The receiving part also has a computing circuit 214 which performs a computation to obtain statistical value by sampling the output from the correlator 205. The relation between statistical value and the communication quality is programmed in a memory included in the computing circuit 214. The computing circuit 214, after evaluating the communication quality based on the statistical value, outputs the communication quality information. The spectrum diffusion communication device has an error correcting and encoding circuit, an error correcting and decoding circuit 210, a diffusion circuit, the reverse diffusion circuit, a transmission frame control circuit, and a reception frame control circuit. Each circuit selects the optimal operating status according to the communication quality information. |
