In a process to match the surface texture of a ceramic denture or implant with a natural tooth, a characteristic mark is applied to the ceramic surface. The characteristic mark consists of one or more prefabricated foil strips (4) applied to the ceramic surface. The foil is applied to the soft ceramic mass and is subsequently coated or covered with ceramic dentine material, ceramic cutting material or a transparent mass, and hardened.
