PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of efficiently manufacturing a cord-containing sheet member for a tire similar to a reed screen-like fabric topped with a rubber sheet without requiring a large-sized calender machine and capable of preventing the occurrence of trouble caused by the remaining of weft yarns or a selvage rubber. SOLUTION: A base rubber sheet 6 is preliminarily wound around the molding surface 51 of a drum 5. Then, tire cords 41 are pasted up on the base rubber sheet 6 at an equal interval by a cord pasting-up head 3 linearly reciprocating and traveling in a drum axis direction by a linear motor 22. When the cord pasting-up head 3 reaches the edge of the base rubber sheet 6 to be turned directionally, the tire cord 41 are cut by a cord cutting head 7. An adhesive liquid comprising the same material as the base rubber sheet 6 is preliminarily applied to the tire cords 41 by dipping. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
