PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single kind of holding device which holds various works different in size, etc. with optimal holding force. SOLUTION: A hand part mounted on a linear working member 7 free to connect and disconnect is furnished with: a movable member 19 supported on a hand part main body to move by a specified distance in the axial direction of the linear working member 7 and to which a working shaft of the linear working member 7 is connected free to connect and disconnect; at least two pieces of oscillating arms 23 free to adjust opening and closing rates on which at least two pieces of moving shafts free to move in the radial direction orthogonal to an axis against the hand part main body and the holding member 27 an intermediate part of which is supported free to oscillate against each of the moving shafts, to oscillate around the moving shaft as its center in accordance with movement of the movable member 19, and provided with the holding members 27 to hold a work on head end parts; and an adjusting member 29 to displace an oscillating center of the oscillating arm 23 by moving the moving shaft in the radial direction.
