PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder which protects a periphery of a locking member of a fastening sleeve from fine cutting chips by constantly integrating an expansion preventing ring with the fastening sleeve, even when the chips sticking to a rotary sleeve fall toward the fastening sleeve, even if the periphery of the locking member is surrounded by the expansion preventing ring so that the locking member does not radially move by a centrifugal force when the rotational speed of a main spindle is increased. SOLUTION: The holder comprises: the fastening sleeve; the rotary sleeve arranged around the fastening sleeve; a plurality of rollers 14 arranged between the fastening sleeve and the rotary sleeve; and the locking member 24 fitted in a recessed portion 23 provided around the fastening sleeve located on the leading end side than the rollers arranged in the clearance. The expansion preventing ring 46 having a thickness allowing its inside surface to come into contact with the locking member and its outside periphery to approach the inside surface of the rotary sleeve within the range of relative movement is arranged around the outside periphery of the locking member.
