PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flux cored wire for welding a ferritic stainless steel capable of commanding excellent weldability, not generating hot cracks in weld metals, and affording weld joints excellent in high-temperature oxidation resistance and thermal fatigue characteristic in the welding of a high purity ferritic stainless steel containing Si. SOLUTION: The flux cored wire contains in the metal skin and the flux, in terms of mass% based on the whole weight of the wire, 0.5 to 1.0% Nb, 0.01 to 0.05% C, 0.2 to 1.0% Mn, 0.10 to 0.45% Si, 13 to 20% Cr, 0.2 to 0.8 Al, while satisfying a=Cr+2Si+0.8Al≥14, 0.1 to 0.8% Ti, 0.05 to 0.25% of one or more kinds of alkali metal carbonate and alkali earth metal carbonate, and 0.015% or less N.
