PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the above composition good in hot water resistance, capable of bringing out a sufficient effect even after a hot water-resistant treatment, and suitable for fiber products requiring good hot water resistance by employing a specific borate ceramics. SOLUTION: This acaricidal composition contains a borate ceramic comprising the combination of B2 O3 with CaO and/or the combination of B2 O3 with MgO. Especially, the borate ceramic preferably comprises the combination of B2 O3 with CaO, has a particle diameter of <=10μm and a CaO/B2 O3 molar ration of 1.2-1.8, and contains CaO.B2 O3 crystals and 2CaO.B2 O3 crystals. The acaricidal composition can impart the acaricidal characteristic to fibers, coatings, paper, etc., in good productivity. Since the actie ingredient of the composition is the crystalline substance, the composition can easily be ground into a size of <=5μm within one to three days and is advantageous on the quality and cost. The composition is applied to a fiber product in a content of 0.5-5.0wt.%/g of fibers, and also to an adhered product or a film product in a content of 0.5-10wt.%/g of a product. |
