The method involves applying a coating compound on an inner surface of a hollow body i.e. nut (8) as a result of centrifugal force of a centrifuge plate (30), where the plate rotates around an axis that is perpendicular to a plate plane. A relative movement between the centrifuge plate and the hollow body is allowed in a direction of a longitudinal axis of the hollow body. The coating compound is provided on the centrifuge plate by a dosing needle (12), and the axial movement of the centrifuge plate is started upon attaining a target rotation speed. An independent claim is also included for a coating device for coating an internal thread of a hollow body.
