摘要 <p>The method involves determining a midpoint of a ball (PM1) of a calibration ball (2) on the basis of multiple contacts of the calibration ball with a measuring probe (3) at different positions of the calibration ball surface by operating the linear axes (X,Y,Z) of the machine. A rotation angle (alpha) of the round axle remains constant by the operation of the linear axes. Another midpoint of the ball (PM2) of a calibration ball is determined. A rotary motion of the round axle is carried out. A third midpoint of the ball (PM3) of a calibration ball is determined. A position (M) of a rotation center and an orientation (O base bar-RA1) of a round axle (5) is detected on the basis of the former, latter and third midpoints of the ball. An independent claim is also included for a computer program product for the execution of the method.</p>
