<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission system in which the utilizing efficiency of an information field in a cell is enhanced to send digital information efficiently. SOLUTION: In this system consisting of an audio (image) information cell processing circuit 1, a mixed border position information insert section 2, an electrooptic conversion circuit 3, an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) network 4, an optoelectric conversion circuit 5, a mixed border discrimination section 6, and an audio (image) information cell separation circuit 7 or the like, cells each with a fixed length are transmitted. Different kinds of digital information sets such as image information, audio information and data information are mixed in one cell. The mixed border information to discriminate the border of different kinds of digital information are set in the cell at each a prescribed cell position.</p> |
