IMPROVED CO2 ABSORPTION METHOD

A method for removing C0₂ in a exhaust gas from combustion of carbonaceaous meterial, in which method the exhaust gas 8 is brought in countercurrent flow with a liquid CO₂ absorbent 18 in a contact section 12, 16 of an absorption column 2, to produce a C0₂ depleted exhaust gas 25 that is released into the atmoshere and a C0₂ rich absorbent 11 that is withdrawn from the absorption column, wherein the exhaust gas is introduced into the absorption column at a temperature above about 90 and the exhaust gas is cooled in the absorption column by countercurrent flow of the liquid absorbent in the absorption column, is described.
