PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital copying device capable of fulfilling function equal to that of a sorter at a low cost and high speed, with high image quality, even if the sorter is not provided. SOLUTION: The copying machine is provided with a scanner 12 reading an original image, a memory 14 storing image data read by the scanner 12 as it is, a data compressing/expanding part 18 for compressing/expanding the image data read by the scanner 12, a mass storage device 19 for storing the image data compressed by the compressing/expanding part 18, an engine control part 21 for executing actual copying output processing and a CPU 16 for executing the total control. Then, the CPU 16 executes control so that the image data read by the scanner 12 is stored in the memory 14 and then, arranged in sort units, to be copy-outputted, when the amount of the original image data is small and the image data read by the scanner 12 is compressed by the compressing/expanding part, 18 stored in the mass storage device 19 and then, arranged in the sort units, to be copy-outputted, when the amount of the original image data is large. |
