<p>A fixation plate for fixing the position of a fractured bone is provided. The fixation plate includes an elongated rigid plate (10) having a plurality of first apertures (12) spaced along the length of the plate (10). The first apertures (12) are arranged and sized to receive threaded fasteners (56) for fastening the plate (10) to the bone (52)(54) on both sides of the fracture (50). The fixation plate (10) also includes a plurality of second apertures (22) spaced along the length of the plate (10). The second apertures (22), which are smaller than the first apertures (12), are arranged and sized to receive tacks (30) to temporarily attach the plate (10) to the bone (52)(54) on both sides of the fracture (50).</p> |
