The invention concerns a data-archiving system (34) for a plurality of similar mobile data carriers (38), by means of which system particularly effective use can be made of the mobile data carriers (38). According to the invention, the system comprises a file-management module (44) which can be connected to a computer system (39) and, via a data carrier-management module (48), to a data carrier (38) selected by the latter. With suitable formatting, a data-archiving system (34) of this type ensures a particularly high degree of compatibility between the mobile data carriers (38) and a single drive. The data-archiving system (34) is thus particularly suitable for use in the processing information system (33) of a power station.
