Prior to the ground yarn guides 2 receiving an overlap movement on a Raschel machine they are given a movement in the opposite direction during which the fall plate 3 is lowered to deflect the fall plate yarns 5a beneath the latches. Thus when the ground yarn guides perform their overlap movement the fall plate is already positioned below the latches. Such movement enables lapping in both directions to be achieved without reduction of speed of the machine. |
