1,115,871. Partitions. METAL SECTIONS Ltd. 17 June, 1966 [25 June, 1965; 30 Sept., 1965; 1 Dec., 1965], Nos. 26971/65, 41504/65 and 50931/65. Headings E1B and E1W. Partition panels each have a top-hat sectioned metal frame 26 with additional edge flanges, e.g. 29 and 30 parallel to its major surfaces, an external metal facing sheet 20 with L-sectioned edge flanges separated from the frame by a grooved wooden frame 31, and an internal facing sheet 22 of, e.g. asbestos, adjacent a second wooden frame 37. A solid core of foamed polyurethane may be employed, or an intermediate sheet 61 of, e.g., asbestos, may separate the internal sheet from the foamed core, the space 62 as formed being left empty or filled with a sound insulation material. The panels may be erected to form a partition which may include a window 79 by using floor and ceiling members 84 and 90 respectively, stanchions 76 formed similarly to the panels, and square tubes e.g. 86 which may have tensioning rods passing therethrough (Figs. 1-3, not shown) or may have threaded end bores by which the tubes are tensioned. Metal boxes, e.g. 119 (Fig. 12, not shown) may be incorporated in the panels and stanchions to locate the bolts by which longitudinal adjacent panels are interconnected via holes in the tubes 86. |
