Degassing of a metal bath, e.g. of steel, is effected by subjecting it to differential pressure by the utilisation of pressure of suction pumps or the addition of gas-forming or gas-absorbing substances. This enables various levels to be adjusted and enables the gas to be introduced through openings in the partition wall from the high pressure area into the metal in the low-pressure area. |
