Clogging of reactor is prevented by expanding crude cyanuric chloride, obtained by cyanogen chloride trimerisation or from Cl2 and HCN in the liq. phase at raised temp. and pressure, at temps. near or above the reaction temp., and absorbing and cooling the expanded crude cyanuric chloride in liquid cyanuric chloride.
