Trisodium monohydrogen diphosphate hydrate prodn. Cpd. containing not more than 2H2O can be produced by dehydrating a soln. or suspension of an equimolar mixture of disodium dihydrogen diphosphate and tetrasodium diphosphate on a calcination cylinder heated to 100-200 degrees C (pref. 130-200 degrees C) until the water content is reduced to the desired level. Starting materials are completely converted into the final product.
