A device for simultaneous circulation of a liquid and a gas and regulation of the gas pressure, consists of a rigid vessel divided into two compartments by a flexible membrane, impermeable to gas and liquid, the first compartment being joined to liquid entry and exit ducts, each provided with a non-return valve, a spring acting on the membrane to increase the volume of the first compartment, the second compartment being joined by gas entry and exit ducts, the entry duct being associated with a spring operated valve arranged so that when the volume of the first compartment increases the membrane pushes the valve spring so as to permit entry of gas. The device ensures good circulation of electrolyte and a controlled gas upply pressure to a fuel cell. The non-return valves consist of diaphragms of elastomer, pref. neoprene, inserted between orifices in a series of plates. The spring acting on the membrane may be a corrugated sheet. |
