Fuels, e.g. gasolines contain (i) a fuel-soluble amine salt of a C 4 -C 11 aliphatic monoamine and a branched chain primary C 8 -C 16 alkyl acid ester of orthophosphoric acid and (ii) 1-50 parts by weight per part by weight of (i) of a liquid, hydrocarbon-soluble polybutene having a number average weight of 400-3000 and a viscosity of 500-900,000 S.U.S. at 100‹ F. and 60-20,000 S.U.S. at 210‹ F. Many examples of amine salts are given, e.g. the 2-ethylhexyl amine salt of mixed mono- and di-tridecyl acid phosphate. Organolead compounds may also be present. |
