[Also in Division A5] Phosphoric, phosphonic, thionophosphoric or thionophosphonic acid pyridyl-2 esters of the general formula in which R and R 1 are alkyl radicals having 1-4 carbon atoms or R 1 is an alkoxy radical having 1-6 carbon atoms or the phenyl radical, R 2 is a cyano or carbamoyl group, R 3 is the phenyl radical, a carbalkoxy radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an alkyl radical, an alkoxyphenyl radical or an alkoxy-methyl radical, R 4 is a hydrogen or halogen atom, R 5 is an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and X is oxygen or sulphur, are prepared by reacting a 2-hydroxy-3-cyano- or -3-carbamoyl pyridine of the formula with a phosphoric, phosphonic, thionophosphoric or thionophosphonic acid ester halide of the general formula in which Hal is a halogen atom. The reaction is preferably carried out in the presence of an inert solvent or diluent at an elevated temperature. The products possess insecticidal and acaricidal properties. |
